The Trail Riders started in 1954 and have established many fine traditions in which you will be able to participate. We are able to ride on many of the historic ranches in Santa Barbara County and surrounding counties because of our fine reputation which is that we respect the ranch, its history, and our hosts, and we always leave a clean camp. We’re proud of our organization, our reputation and our traditions, and this pride is built upon the unselfish contributions and full participation of each and every Member and Green Scarf.
Remember, every Trail Rider has been a Green Scarf, but not every Green Scarf will become a Trail Rider. It all depends on you. Your attitude, horsemanship, etiquette, and social skills are critical and will be evaluated by everyone and will eventually determine whether you have what it takes to be a Santa Barbara Trail Rider.
